Charity and Community Events
Here at MB HQ we like to get involved with as many charity events and local events as possible - especially if it involves cake or fancy dress! Below are a selection of upcoming events we are holding or taking part in and some of our past events.
If you have any events that you would like Marshfield Bakery to be involved in or you are a charity that would like us to fundraise for, please get in touch.
In partnership with SSAFA (Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association), the oldest Armed Forces Charity, the team at Marshfield Bakery dressed up in World War II costumes to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Victory in Europe Day. Alongside the war time uniforms, we held a war-time recipe bake sale selling trench cake, barra brithe and scones among other delicious treats to raise money for the charity.
Macmillan Cancer Support Coffee Day
We held a coffee and cake morning to raise money for Macmillan with home-made treats on sale from our staff. There were a range of edible treats on offer; Oreo cake, Victoria sponge, gluten free lemon and blueberry pollenta cake, chocolate cake, carrot cake (minus the nuts) and chocolate chip cookies. The collection tin was full by the end of the day, along with everyone's bellies, raising just under £70 for the charity.
Ted's Big Bake for Royal United Hospital Bath
We held another bake sale this time to raise money for the Royal United Hospital in Bath as part of the Forever Friends Appeal. Our staff brought in homemade treats to sell including a Mary Berry fudge cake, chocolate and orange cupcakes, oaty banana cupcakes and a couple of victoria sponges - which didn't stick around for long! We made just under £70 for the charity.
